Wild Hogs Moving in to the Muldoon Area
Hogs have been moving in the area with a number of them getting hit on the roads. Local hunter, Chris Joplin, has taken on helping control the population and has caught and killed over 60 head so far. This is only making a small dent in the hog density, but any and all elimination of this nuisance is needed to help control the damage to the land.
Out and About
Darrell and Dana Kulak enjoyed a visit from Darrell’s brother and sister-in-law, John David and Karen Kulak of Iago. They travelled in and were treated to a tour of the country. They drove around to see the local area attractions and enjoy some time together and a meal. John David and Karen spent the night in Muldoon before heading back home.
Rain
Parts of Muldoon received some rain over the past week. A quick shower on Wednesday afternoon brought around half an inch to some areas and only a few drops to others. Temperatures have begun to rise and humidity has increased as well. Summer is upon us for sure.
Road Work
The road work on North FM 154 has been completed. The seal coat was shot and work finished this past week. There should not be any more travel delays when driving north out of Muldoon.
Neighborhood Watch
Be sure to check on your neighbors. Take time to call and make sure all is OK with them, especially the elderly neighbors in the area. A few minutes can mean a lot to them.
Also, be on alert when out and about. If you see something out of place, be sure to take the time to call and check it out. If you see a vehicle cruising the area or parked in a strange spot, make note of the details and let the sheriff‘s office know so they can check it out. Being aware and letting your neighbor know that there is something not right helps keep the area safe.
Lending Library
Do not forget that Muldoon has a Little Lending Library. It is located in front of the fire station across the tracks from the old stone store. Borrow a book or leave a book, adventures are there to be had just by opening a book and diving into the pages. Reading is always a good way to pass the time. This is a great asset for the community and should be utilized by all who like to read. This Little Lending Library is a great asset to the community. This keeps everyone from having to travel to find a “new” read for the summer.
