Traffic Stop on Country Club Drive Ends Up in Two Arrests

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Wednesday morning around 1:34 am Deputy Adam Mack while on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Mazda for an expired registration on Country Club Drive near US Hwy 77.

After contact was made with the driver, drug paraphernalia was located on the driver.

The passenger admitted to having methamphetamine in his pocket and a baggy with a crystal type substance was located.

In the vehicle a vaping pen with a cartridge containing a dark oil emitting a Marijuana odor consistent with THC oil was located.

Assisting Mack at the scene was Deputy James Ulbig.

Arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange was 56 year old Craig Allen Wylie of La Grange and 23 year old Chance Edward Denton of Smithville who were charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Wylie was also charged with a Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.
