Theft of Political Sign Reported in La Grange
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of July 19-26.
Theft
On July 21, Anderson received a call regarding a theft in the 200 block of E. Lindert.
On July 23, Meinardus spoke with caller who advised that someone stole a political sign from his front yard in the 1100 block of E. Camp. Officer gathered the caller’s information and a written statement then completed an incident report.
Animal Complaint
On July 19, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 1200 block of N. Jefferson where complainant stated that his neighbor’s dogs continually bark and one got out. Complainant advised that this is an ongoing problem and has reported it previously.
On July 20, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to a loose cow in the 1800 block of State Highway 71 Bypass.
On July 22, Zwahr responded to the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business and the animal was removed from the property.
Accident
On July 24, Patrolman Cari Haman spoke with a subject in reference to her vehicle being hit in the parking lot of HEB in the 400 block of E. Travis.
On July 25, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a minor two-vehicle crash in the 100 block of E. Milam.
Civil Matter
On July 23, Patrolman Brian Adams responded to the 300 block of W. Fireside where complainant stated she is having difficulty with her sister over allowing her son to stay at her residence. Officer advised the son was of age to make his own decision. Officer attempted contact with sister but was unable to reach her by phone or at residence.
Disturbance
On July 20, Zwahr responded to a call of a disturbance in the 700 block of S. Washington. A report was taken and a subject was arrested.
Family Violence
On July 20, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Riverview for a disturbance and one subject had left the location.
Found Property
On July 23, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of W. Travis where caller stated that a U-Haul trailer that was in his possession was listed as stolen in his company computer. Officer found that the trailer was not entered as a stolen vehicle. Trailer was removed from stolen list in his business computer.
Parking Violation
On July 21, Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of State Highway 71 Business for a possible parking violation. Subject had proper paperwork and there was no violation.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On July 22, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call to check the area in the 400 block of E. Milam for a suspicious person knocking on the complainant’s door. Officer checked the location and surrounding area. Nothing was found and the call was cleared. Complainant stated that she did not see anybody and just wanted an officer to check the area.
On July 24, Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 300 block of S. Madison.
Scam
On July 22, Meinardus spoke with caller who advised that a subject posing as an officer with the social security administration contacted him and tried to get him to divulge his social security number. The caller hung up without giving them any information and reported the incident.
Verbal Dispute
On July 19, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of Connie Street where complainant stated that his brother threatened him. Officer spoke with the juveniles’ mother who stated they were playing and the caller became angry and stomped off.
On July 20, Anderson received a call in regard to a verbal dispute in the 500 block of W. Lowerline.
On July 21, Zwahr responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of E. Guadalupe and upon arrival officer spoke with all parties involved and the situation was resolved.
Welfare Check
On July 21, Anderson received a call in regard to a welfare check in the 500 block of Cindy Lane.
On July 21, Anderson responded to the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a welfare check.
On July 21, Currington responded to the 200 block of S. Ellinger Road to check on a subject and was advised subject was not there and had not been there in weeks.
On July 24, Zwahr responded to the 200 block of E Pearl for a welfare check and officer spoke with resident who advised they were fine.
On July 24, Haman responded to a residence in the 1000 block of N. Sunset to check on a male subject who had fallen in his yard and went back into his residence. Neighbors were concerned when he would not answer the door. Subject was ok and did not need medical attention.
Warrant Arrest
On July 22, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was notified of a wanted subject in the 400 block of E. Travis. Officer arrested subject on an outstanding warrant.
On July 22, Patrolman John Wostarek arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant in the 200 block of S. Ellinger Road.
Miscellaneous
On July 21, Currington checked on a 911 hang up in the 500 block of Koening Lane. A child was playing on a phone and parent put the phone up high where the child could not reach.
On July 23, Maxwell was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to a patient being belligerent. Officer spoke with the patient and was able to calm him down. Officer gave him a ride to Bastrop.
On July 24, Haman responded to the railroad tracks at Lindert Street in search of a subject. Officer was unable to locate any subject on the tracks.
On July 24, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a forgery in the 900 block of E. Colorado. Officer met with complainant and took report.
On July 24, Zwahr searched the 800 block of S. Washington for a vehicle driving fast up and down the road. Officer was unable to locate any vehicle matching the description.
On July 25, Mohr received a call of minors drinking and disturbing the peace in the 300 block of Rose Mayer. Officer was unable to locate anyone on the street.
