Sign Up For Regional Notification System
WarnCentralTexas.org uses the Everbridge Emergency Notification System, a fast communication service allowing jurisdictions within the Capital Area Council of Governments’ ten-county region (CAPCOG) Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis and Williamson Counties — to notify residents, business owners and visitors of emergency situations. The system, which CAPCOG generally refers to as the regional notification system (RNS), provides mass notifications quickly and easily. The RNS can notify people about local emergencies in a variety of ways, including on their cell phones, home and work phones and by text messaging and email.
When will it be used?
The RNS will be used to send emergency warnings and actionable directives when imminent threats to health and safety such as natural disasters occur or during times when there are public safety issues. Weather Alerts will be automatically generated by the system by pulling information from the National Weather Service. Weather Alerts will consist of items such as flash flood warnings and tornado watches. The RNS can also be used by local jurisdictions to send Community Notifications such as boil water notices. These will be emailed and can be done in conjunction with their social media platforms.
How do I know that my local community is using WarnCentralTexas.org?
CAPCOG purchased the use of the Everbridge system for its member organizations in the ten-county region — Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis and Williamson Counties. Cities and county officials in every jurisdiction have access to the Everbridge system for sending notifications to areas in their boundaries.
How do I sign up?
Go to www.warncentraltexas.org and click the sign up button at the top of the page. If you need alerts about activity at more than one location, fill out a separate registration form for each address.

What are subscriptions?
Emergency warnings are mandatory when signing up. You have the option to receive Weather Alerts and Community Notifications that are unique to your jurisdiction.
Is there a fee?
No. The service is free for the public to use. Participants will be responsible for any fees associated with text messaging, data and cell phone charges from their service provider.
