SHS Class of 1960 Reunites for Lunch and Reminiscing

On Thursday, Oct. 8, the Schulenburg High School Class of 1960 met at the Oakridge Smokehouse in Schulenburg to enjoy reminiscing and a great buffet meal.

Harvey Oeding led the group with a moment of silence to remember all classmates who were not with us and those that were unable to attend this year; then a blessing was provided before eating lunch; after lunch a short business meeting, then more visiting.

Thursday, Oct. 7, 2027 will be the next get-together (reunion) date at Oakridge Smokehouse. The class has information on 18 deceased classmates, but is seeking information on the following: Carol (Babylon) Bogan, Olin Ehler, Corine (Hoffman) Stahl, Dorothy (Sokol) Zapalac and Lera Bell (Sommer) Kipp. If you know the whereabouts or have any information regarding these classmates, call, text or email Harvey Oeding at (979) 702-0292 or harveyoeding@ gmail.com or Gary Herzik at (817) 606-7080 or jaggherzik@yahoo.com. In the past few years, the group has been in touch with their favorite English teacher, Ms. Jane Knapik, who lives in Marble Falls.
