Shared Lutheran Ministry Holding Parking Lot Worship
The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County (SLM) churches will not be holding regular worship services once again. However, there will be parking lot worship at Warrenton on July 5, 19 and Aug. 9. The services will begin at 9 a.m. (when it is a bit cooler). Worship services will still be aired at noon on KTIM-89.1 and recorded for viewing on Facebook or www.sharedlutheranministry.org.
Aug. 9 is Vicar Jonathon’s last Sunday with the SLM. More details will follow about an appreciation farewell.
The following words of wisdom are from Vicar Jonathon’s message in the SLM newsletter: “Believe it or not, but during these trying times, hope is for real. We have hope because of what God has done and continues to do for us. Hope is not artificial, but based on the reality of God’s saving work in our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ saves us and shares many gifts with us. Faith, peace, grace, hope and the Holy Spirit are some of those gifts. Then there is the profound teaching in the book of Romans that suffering leads to hope.” Members will surely miss you, but wish you well in your new endeavors.
Lutherhill Virtual Camp
While the SLM will not be having Day Camp this summer, it is announcing that Lutherhill will be providing a virtual day camp so that kids can participate from home. There will be Bible studies by Pastor Jen, arts and crafts, sing-alongs and other features. More specifically, there will be five daily videos, printable handouts and lessons for the family.

St. John Lutheran
The Ellinger St. John Lutheran Church held its council meeting on Tuesday, June 16. The council approved transfer of a membership, accepted a bid for painting the church and fellowship hall and is seeking a temporary substitute for a council position.
Worship was scheduled to resume on Sunday, July 5, but that will not be the case now due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in Texas.
Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.
Chamber of Commerce
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce has some t-shirts, caps and koozies for sale. Your purchase or donations will help them to get some revenue that they lost to cancellations of events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can see examples of items for sale on the Chamber website. First Show for Karish
The Karish Cattle Company Clan participated in the Beefmaster Open and Heifer Show held on Saturday, June 27, at the Brazos County Expo Center. This was Rilan’s first official show and he did well showing his heifer, Polly. Although they did not place to win any prizes, it was a successful show for them. His sister Rheagan also participated, showing four of her heifers.
