Schulenburg Man Issued Traffic Ticket After Accident with Fayette Co. Deputy

A Schulenburg man received a traffic ticket after getting into an accident with a Sheriff’s deputy last Friday.

According to a report from DPS Trooper April Galvan-Usher, the accident happened around 4:49 p.m. at the corner of Bucek Street and US 77 in Schulenburg. Shane Allen Machicek, 22 of Schulenburg, was driving a white 2016 Honda Odyssey. He was stopped on Bucek Street facing east at the US 77 intersection.

Usher’s report stated that Machicek failed to yield the right of way as he attempted to turn on to US 77. Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Arvin Gresham, 71 of Schulenburg, was heading south on US 77 in a tan 2017 Dodge Charger patrol vehicle. The front left corner of the Odyssey struck the front right corner of the Charger.

No one was injured, according to Usher’s report. Usher issued Machicek a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
