RT-Carmine ISD Prepares for New School Year

School is around the corner and Round Top-Carmine students must complete the online registration every year. Students will not receive their fall class schedule unless registration is complete.

Please log into your Parent Portal to complete your student’s registration for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Your email address must match the email address you used as your contact email.

After completing your online registration, sign up for a time to pick up your schedule, Chromebook, and/or select your parking. The Chromebook Agreement Form must be filled out, along with other agreements. Go to the www. rtcisd.net website for more information Seventh and eighth grade students will receive their Chromebooks on the first day of school.

Classes begin on Aug. 19. The first high school volleyball scrimmage will be on Aug. 7 all day in Giddings. The second one is at Bellville on Aug. 8 and the last one will be at Iola on Aug. 10. The first game is on Aug. 11 at Flatonia with both JV and varsity teams playing. The first game begins at 5 p.m.

The RT-C administrative offices are open Mondays – Thursdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Elementary school Back to School Night is from 5-6 p.m. on Aug. 17. There will be a Title I meeting in the library at 5 p.m.

Pre-K to third graders may drop off supplies and visit rooms from 5-6 p.m.

A meeting will be in the cafeteria for grades 4-6 at 5:30 p.m. when they can bring their supplies bagged and labeled to be dropped off on the stage.

Food will be available from 5-6 p.m.

Jr. high and high school Back to School Welcome Walk is also on Aug. 17 from 6:15-7:15 p.m.

Incoming 7th graders and new students meet from 6:156:45 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Meet your teachers from 6:45-7:15 p.m.

Returning students in grades 8-12 meet from 6:457:15 p.m. for assigned lockers, schedule pick-up, and meet the teachers.

All athletes and at least one parent meet in the gym from 7:15-7:30 p.m. for an athletic meeting and coach introduction.

Food will be served from 6:15-7:15 p.m.

School Kits 

Lutheran World Relief school kits are being collected by the Women of the ELCA of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.

Items for a kit include: four 70-count spiral notebooks; a blunt pair of scissors; a 30-centimeter ruler which includes 12-inches; a pencil sharpener; five unsharpened #2 pencils; five ballpoint pens; a two and one-half-inch eraser; and a box of 16-24 crayons.

MLLC News 

Senior Citizens meet on Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission & Ministry Building.

AA group meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School begins Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost is Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor.

MLLC News 

Worship with Holy Communion is July 26 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Weiss serving as the guest pastor. The Rev. Bonnie Parker will lead the service on Aug. 2.

Recycling Hours 

The recycling collection trailers are at the Carmine Hall in the morning from 7:30 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursdays.

Accepted are clean No. 1 and 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please keep clean milk cartons separate from the other No. 2 plastics. Also, numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.

Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans may also be brought.

Farewell 

This column is the last issue I will be sending for the Carmine News. After almost twenty-five years, I have decided to retire. It has been a pleasure writing the column, working with the persons at the newspaper, and hearing from readers.
