Round Top’s Big 150th Anniversary Rescheduled

Although the Round Top Sesquicentennial Committee, Town Council, and volunteers have been planning for months to host the town’s 150th Anniversary Celebration on August 1st of this year, the event has been rescheduled to May 8, 2021 to ensure the health and well-being of all involved. Currently, all celebratory activities are expected to remain the same, although there may be some minor adjustments as needed in the future. The Sesquicentennial Committee hopes that with better conditions all-around, guests will be enticed to spend Mother’s Day Weekend in Round Top creating memories of community spirit and family-friendly recreation.

“We are excited about the new date of May 8 and look forward to celebrating Round Top with family and friends. We hope that rescheduling to Mother’s Day Weekend will prove to be a great opportunity to welcome locals and visitors to join in on the celebration of our culturally-rich town while also building memories with multiple generations of family members,” said Amy Bone, co-chair of Round Top’s Sesquicentennial Committee.

The 48-page historical folio, written by local author Sally Reynolds, is still slated to be distributed to all community members in the July 24 issue of the Fayette County Record and promises to build anticipation to the newly rescheduled cultural event.
