Round Top to Celebrate 150 Years

Round Top to Celebrate 150 Years

Another exciting event to add to your calendar: Round Top is celebrating 150 years. Join Round Top for the Anniversary celebration on Friday and Saturday, July 31 and Aug. 1. The celebration will be packed with fun activities, including a BBQ cook-off, historic home tours, games, live music and tons of family fun. Stay tuned for more information as the event draws closer.

Fourth of July Parade

The longest-running parade west of the Mississippi is fast approaching. Round Top’s annual Fourth of July Parade begins on Saturday, July 4, at 10 a.m. The cannon will signal the start of the parade. The Round Top Rifle Hall is taking extra precautions to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy, including a longer parade route to allow for more distance between spectators. An additional loop along Gretchen’s Way is being added at the end of the parade as it travels northward on Highway 237 leaving Round Top. You can view the updated parade route at www.roundtoprifle.com.

After the conclusion of the parade, the Rifle Association members are planning to prepare and serve a meal of delicious BBQ chicken and smoked sausage, potatoes, green beans and coleslaw. All dinners will be packaged and distributed in to-go containers. Outside tables will be available, following social distancing guidelines at that date, and sanitation stations will be available on the grounds. Vis it the Rifle Association’s website for a full list of safety precautions being taken.
