Food Pantry

The AMEN Food Pantry is open every Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. at 805 Mode Lane in La Grange. Anyone in need of food is encouraged to come to the pantry for the drive-thru process of distributing food. You need not be a previous client to receive food. The pantry phone number is (979) 968-3943 if there are any questions.

LGISD Meals

To Parents/Guardian: LGISD will be distributing meals on the following dates from the Elementary School entrance on Milam Street from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m Tuesday, May 26, Monday, June 1, Monday, June 8, Monday, June 15, Monday, June 22 and Monday, June 29. LGISD will be announce the dates in July as decisions are made.

LG Garden Club

The La Grange garden club will hold their Thursday, May 28 meeting in the backyard of the Faison House located at the corner of South Jefferson and West Live Oak Streets/US Hwy. 77 South. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. observing social distancing. Wear or bring a facemask and a folding chair. The Club will provide a light lunch and refreshments for all to enjoy. Visitors are welcome to come and enjoy the club activities and get some fresh air. If attending, RSVP to Carolyn at (979) 247-3464. The club motto is “cultivating flowers and friendship.”

Summer Day Camp

The City of La Grange Recreation Department will begin registration for the 2020 Summer Day Camp on Wednesday, May 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 East Pearl. To register parents must have complete forms, a $10/per child registration fee and pay for the participant(s) first and last week of camp. Fees are $70 for the first child, $60 for a second child and $50 for a third child. Youth must be entering kindergarten and sixth grade for the 2020-2021 school year. Spaces are limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis at sign-up. Registration packets will be available on Thursday, May 21 for parents to pick-up, complete and return at sign-up. Camp sign-ups will be at social distance spacing six feet and parents/guardians only will be allowed in the facility and facemasks are recommended. Camp weeks will begin Monday, June 1 from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. daily and youth groups will be separated into groups in separate areas of the facility for distancing purposes. Be aware that the Recreation staff will be working through the COVID-19 pandemic with guidance of the CDC and other professional guidance for camps.
