Casino Hall Opens

The Historic Casino Hall in La Grange is now open to the public. The History Room exhibits are open and guests can pick up free brochures, maps, Texas State Visitors Guides to plan their next adventure. There is plenty of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available to help keep everyone safe. You can book an appointment on the La Grange Main Street Facebook page or by phone at (979) 9683017 but Walk-Ins are always welcome. We will keep to 10 visitors at a time and staff will wear protective face coverings. All of our guests are encouraged to wear masks when they visit and wash their hands when they enter and before leaving. The Historic Casino Hall is located at 254 N. Jefferson Street, La Grange. Our current hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. We are planning to be open Saturday, May 23 and May 30. We will be open Sundays beginning in June.

FCRW Meeting

The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, May 21 at the La Grange City Hall council chambers, located at 155 E. Colorado in La Grange. Social time will start at 6 p.m. and business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Tara Mica who has served as State Director in Texas and a region of states for the National Rifle Association since 1997. She has worked with NRA members in the Lone Star State to pass landmark lawsuit preemption, Castle Doctrine, car carry, campus carry and open carry legislation. City of LG Memorial Day Holiday

City of La Grange offices will be closed Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day. Waste Management will not have a holiday and will run their normal garbage schedule.

AMEN Food Pantry Closed Memorial Day

The AMEN Food Pantry will be closed this Memorial Day, Monday, May 25 and will be open Tuesday, May 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. at 805 Mode Lane in La Grange. Anyone in need of food is encouraged to come to the pantry for the drive-thru process of distributing food. You do not need to be a previous client to receive food. Flatonia Farm Bureau Meeting

Flatonia Farm Bureau meeting and dinner scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 has been cancelled due to the coronavirus.

RT Hermann Sons Life

The Round Top Hermann Sons Life Lodge No. 151 will not hold a May meeting. The next meeting is planned for Thursday, June 25, at the Quade-Werchan American Legion Post 338 in Round Top. The social time will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting and meal following at 7 p.m. The Lodge will provide the meal, dessert and drinks. For more information, call Lila Garlin at (281)705-4647.

The Texas Heroes Museum is working on new displays and will open soon. Watch for updates and the re-opening announcement.

Grief Support Events & Groups Online

Hospice Brazos Valley is hosting Expressing Grief Through Art & Grief Support Groups online and special workshop events are offered to help community members grieve while still making space for hope and healing. Upcoming programs include Expressing Grief Through Art on Saturday, May 16 and Saturday, May 30 along with an Online Grief Support Group hosted every Thursday at 1 p.m. through May and June. Space is limited and RSVPs are required. These events are no cost to attend and are open to the public.
