Police Chief Reports on Recent Activity
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 21-28.
Assault
On June 23, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to a male in the St. Mark’s emergency room who had apparently been stabbed in the 500 block of N. College.
On June 25, Patrolman John Wostarek received information on a possible assault in the 200 block of Ellinger Road.
Agency Assist
On June 26, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to a fire call in the 800 block of E. Walnut Street. Resident was able to put the fire out before fire department could respond.
Animal Complaint
On June 21, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the intersection of N. Washington and Camp Street in regard to a loose dog that was barking. Officer was able to get the dog back in the fenced area of the residence.
On June 21, Maxwell spoke with a caller in the 600 block of N. Washington in regard to dogs constantly barking at the location.
On June 27, Patrolman Cari Haman spoke with a business owner about a dead deer behind a business in the 100 block of N. Main. Animal control officer was contacted and the deer was removed.
On June 27, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of N. Monroe for a snake in a residence. The snake was removed and relocated.
Citizen Assist
On June 22, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of possible criminal activity in the 500 block of W. Lowerline.
On June 24, Patrolman Brett Meinardus spoke with a caller who stated she believed an 18-wheeler tapped her while at the red light at the intersection of Highway 71 Business and Highway 77. Caller stated she believed the truck followed her, but she was afraid to stop. No damage was done to the vehicle.
Family Violence
On June 26, Haman responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of N. Horton.
Missing Person
On June 22, Haman received information about a missing elderly male subject. He was found near the boat ramp and reunited with his family.
Suspicious Vehicle/Person
On June 26, Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of E. Lafayette in regard to a vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. Officer made contact with the subject who advised he lived there.
On June 25, Wostarek responded to the 600 block of S. Ellinger Road where caller stated they heard people talking behind their house. Officer arrived on location and searched the area. Officer was unable to find anyone in the area.
On June 25, Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Lindert where caller advised that their neighbor keeps walking around their property. Officer was unable to make contact with the caller.
On June 27, Mohr received a call of a subject interfering with the digital sign for a business in the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass. Officer arrived and found he was trying to recharge his phone. Officer assisted the subject in moving toward his destination.
Theft
On June 21, Patrolman Brian Adams obtained information for a theft investigation in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
Trespassing
On June 23, Anderson responded to the 400 block of W. Colorado in regard to a male subject swimming in the City Pool which was closed.
Verbal Dispute
On June 21, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of N. College in regard to a verbal dispute. Officer arrived on location and spoke with both subjects. Subjects calmed down after speaking with the officer.
On June 26, Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 159 for two sisters arguing. Officer talked to the two sisters and they agreed not to speak on their way back home to New Orleans.
On June 24, Wostarek was dispatched to the 800 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a verbal dispute. Officer arrived on location and spoke with both subjects. Subjects were separated for the night after speaking with officer.
On June 25, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Colorado in regard to a verbal dispute. Officer arrived on location and spoke with two subjects. Subjects agreed to separate for the night after speaking with the officer.
Welfare Check
On June 27, Haman met with the on duty doctor at St. Mark’s emergency room in reference to a male subject that was brought in by Colorado County EMS and refused treatment.
On June 27, Mohr received a call of a disturbance earlier in the day and to check the welfare of those involved in the 900 block of E. Camp.
On June 27, Zwahr performed a welfare check in the 700 block of E. Milam and spoke with resident who stated everything was fine.
Miscellaneous
On June 21, Maxwell was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Fannin in regard to loud music. Officer spoke with the homeowner and had him turn down the music. A warning was issued.
On June 22, Haman responded to the 200 block of Northpointe and located the operator of a truck tractor and trailer that was parked on the roadway. On June 22, Mohr received
On June 22, Mohr received a call of a paint can that spilled on the roadway in the 500 block of E. Travis. Officer arrived and had a crew clean the roadway.
On June 23, Anderson received information from the dispatcher about drugs being sold in the 300 block of E. Fannin.
On June 24, Maxwell was dispatched to the 800 block of S. Washington for loud music. Officer was unable to locate any loud music.
On June 24, Adams investigated complaint of counterfeit money being passed in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business
On June 24, Patrolman Justin Koehne spoke with complainant at the police station in regard to harassment.
