Official Urges Preparedness for 2020 Hurricane Season
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30 and the seasonal average is 12 named storms, with six being hurricanes.
Here’s a hurricane preparedness message from Fayette County Director of Emergency Management Craig Moreau:
“I am highly encouraging residents to prepare for hurricane season in earnest this year. The hurricane season, coupled with the coronavirus outbreak could make getting needed supplies, especially medical supplies, even harder to find than normal. Please gather all medicines, and medical information in a secure and easy to access location, have identification on-hand, and have enough water and cash to last for one week.”
