Muldoon Welcomes Walter and Marcia Jackson
It is finally official: the Jacksons have moved to Muldoon. Walter and Marcia Jackson have finished building a beautiful new home and have officially moved in. Walter has been living here and is working at Farmers’ Lumber in La Grange, but Marcia has had to stay in Houston to handle family business there. With the completion of their new home, Marcia has been able to move down and join Walter in the country life full time and become a full time Muldoon resident.
Out and About
Frank Chlumsky’s son Reece flew in from Idaho to pick up his oldest daughter, Cheinefl, for her summer visit up north and they came by to visit with Frank and Kathy. They all had a great time together catching up and visiting about life. They also visited the Jersey Barnyard and did a bit of shopping with the local vendors there. Cheinefl got to feed a few animals while visiting the country, too. She really enjoyed the calves since it was a first for her. It was a great quiet country visit before heading back to the big city.
Devon Boehnke enjoyed a big family visit over Father’s Day weekend. He was joined in the country by his kids and grandkids. Beth and Jack Field of Magnolia brought with them their daughters, Erica and Joy Field and Joy’s friend, Kimi, from A&M; April and Kenneth Pospisil of Hungerford came in with their daughter and grandson, Annie Zimmerhanzel and Luke.
Rain
At the time of this writing, Muldoon has seen a few small showers adding up to perhaps a couple tenths of an inch. Promise of more rain is in the forecast and is much needed at this time of year. Temperatures have been staying under the one hundred mark, but very humid.
Mowers
The Texas Department of Transportation has had their contract mowers come through the area and it looks wonderful. This will help when pulling out from driveways and gates and also with being able to see wildlife in the ditches.
Hog Report
Local hog hunter, Chris Joplin reports 49 for the month of June so far. He took six the first week, nine the second week, 22 the third week and has taken nine so far in the fourth week. With Chris hard at work trapping hogs, hopefully it will reflect in less pasture damage in the area and cut down on the massive population that seems to be in the area.
Neighborhood Watch
Be sure to check on your neighbors during these crazy times. We all need to help each other out and lend a helping hand where we can. Give them a call and see if they are doing OK and maybe if you can pick something up for them if you are going into town. They might just need a friendly voice to make sure they are doing ok.
Also, if you see anything out of the ordinary, please report it. Take down the vehicle make, model, color and license plate, if you can, along with the time and day. Call that neighbor and see if they were expecting someone on their property and has given permission for access. You might just help keep someone from losing their property or keep it from getting damaged.
