Muldoon Community Garage Sale Planned
Karen Jacobs has been putting together a community wide yard sale. She is planning it for Friday and Saturday June 5-6 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. each day. The event is open to all who want to come and setup and sell all the things they have to peddle after cleaning out while at home so long. This will be a good chance to eliminate some of the excess that is just sitting at your house.
Presently there are plans to set up in front of her store and the Forsythe’s and there will be several awnings available, but people can bring their own along with their own tables and chairs to rest in. Everyone will be in charge of setting up their own tables to display their goodies. They also will need to man their own booths.
Anyone can be a part of the event for one or both days. The only rules to be followed are the ones required by the Fayette County officials at the time. These may include masks, hand sanitizer and social distancing. For more information or to re serve your space please call Karen at (281) 682-5625.
Getting Back To Normal
Things in Muldoon have slowly been returning to the “new normal.” Traffic has picked back up and long with that more animals have gotten hit on the roads. This also means a few have gotten out and about with all the safety precautions that we all have to have these days. Pam Sheffield enjoyed a visit from her daughters Sarah Holland from Spring and Allison Williford from Cypress for Mother’s Day. The ladies came in and got to go Rhinestone Angel for Mother’s Day presents for themselves and then spent lots of time at Pam’s house having fun, eating, playing games, and watching movies along with lots of relaxation. Also during this time the girls helped Pam do some “much needed cleaning” according to Pam of old pictures, office supplies, and old papers. Then after all that cleaning they rearranged the furniture to make things more organized overall. They all had a wonderful weekend and made a fun task out of spring cleaning.
Ron and Pam Knotts broke out and took a road trip to see something other than the local area. They drove up to Leander and Liberty Hill to check out some of the places they had been seeing on the news over the years. The report they gave was that the landscape was defiantly Hill Country with lots of rocks and low trees with goats in every pasture. The population in that area was pretty sparse, so the threat of the virus was not as prevalent in the area. Most restaurants were still doing take out. Ron and Pam made their regular “Road Trip” thing of topping off their adventure with a DQ ice cream cone.
Rain
Muldoon got another inch and a half after my last writing. At the time of this writing there is more rain being predicted over the Memorial Day weekend. No complaints from those who have animals and are raising hay. Temperatures have been pushing into the nineties, but are predicted to drop back into the eighties after the next front comes in.
All the rain and flowering has brought on allergies and sinus problems for a few in the area. Check on your neighbors and make sure they are doing ok. We all have to take care of each other in a small community. That’s what makes us a community.
