LG Police Respond to Identity Theft Report
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 31 through June 7.
Identity Theft
On June 5, Adams was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Washington where complainant advised that his personal identity information and business tax id number was fraudulently used to obtain credit.
Theft
On June 5, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis in regard to a theft. Caller stated that a white male subject took off running down S. Madison. Officer searched the area, but was unable to locate the subject.
Agency Assist
On June 6, Patrolman Brian Adams responded to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass where Fayette County Sheriff’s Office advised of a truck puling a trailer leaking liquid from hose on trailer. The trailer was found to be carrying water for pressure washing and the leak was fixed.
Assault
On June 5, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of W. Lowerline. One male subject was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail.
Accident
On June 5, Patrolman Brett Meinardus spoke with complainant who advised they left their vehicle parked in the HEB parking lot overnight and believes someone may have hit it due to some minor scuffs and scratches. Officer advised him to contact his insurance company.
Animal Complaint
On May 31, Patrolman Cari Haman met with a subject at the animal shelter in the 200 block of Svoboda Lane to receive a dog that was found inside of HEB.
On June 1, Adams responded to the 200 block of S. Ellinger Road where complainant advised that while riding his bicycle on Florence Street he was chased by a black pit-bull dog. Officer checked the area, but was unable to locate an animal and informed animal control of the incident.
On June 2, Patrolman John Wostarek spoke with individual in the 1100 block of N. Von Minden about an animal complaint.
On June 6, Adams was dispatched to the 200 block of Ellinger Road for a brown pit-bull dog running loose in the roadway and was almost struck by several vehicles. The dog was taken to the animal shelter and released to staff.
Civil Matter
On June 3, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 500 block of Koenig Lane where complainant advised she purchased a used vehicle in February from a seller with a 30-day warranty. The complainant went to the seller’s address to talk about the warranty and seller refused. Complainant was advised that if she feels she has a civil case she must file in the appropriate court.
Suspicious Vehicle/Subjects
May 31, Zwahr was dispatched to the intersection of N. Water and W. Colorado for a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle was located, but no one was in or around the vehicle.
On May 31, Haman responded to the 600 block of E. Fannin in reference to suspicious subjects.
On June 1, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Monroe in regard to a suspicious vehicle. Caller stated that it appeared that the driver was sleeping. Officer searched the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
On June 2, Adams responded to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a suspicious white male in Walmart.
On June 4, Zwahr was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Fannin for suspicious people hanging around an abandoned house. Officer searched the area, but there was no one near the location.
Verbal Dispute
On May 31, Zwahr responded to the 800 block of N. Madison for a verbal disturbance. The parties were separated.
On June 4, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a verbal dispute in the 300 block of Fireside Lane. Upon arriving officer determined that both parties needed to be separated.
On June 4, Mohr received a call of a verbal dispute in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business that was happening outside the business.
On June 7, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of Vail Street in regard to a verbal dispute.
Welfare Check
On June 2, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass. Officer arrived on location and spoke with the subject. The subject left with a friend after speaking with officer.
On June 2, Maxwell was dispatched to the 900 block of S. Jackson in regard to a welfare check. Officer made contact with the subject and was advised all was fine.
Warrant Arrest
On June 5, Sgt. Justin Koehne arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant from Harris County in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Subject was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for processing.
Miscellaneous
On May 31, Mohr received a call of a lost wallet and returned the wallet to the owner in the 1000 block of N. Madison.
On May 31, Zwahr responded to the 500 block of W. Lafayette for loud music coming from down the road. Officer spoke with the resident and the music was turned down.
On June 1, Wostarek stopped a subject in the 100 block of S. Jefferson for a traffic violation and subject was found to be in possession of marijuana. Subject was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and released to the jail staff.
On June 3, Mohr received a call of shots being fired in the 500 block of W. Lowerline and upon arrival discovered it was an electrical issue with city lines blowing fuses.
On June 7, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Lowerline in regard to loud music. Officer searched the area, but was unable to locate loud music.
On June 7, Maxwell was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Pearl in regard to loud music. Officer spoke with the homeowner and had him turn down the music and a warning was issued.
