LG Police Help Find Runaway Child
La Grange Police helped retrieve a nine-year-old autistic child who ran away from his mother in the Tractor Supply parking lot last week.
According to a report from La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath, the incident happened around 11:18 a.m. on May 4. Gilbreath said the mother had just finished shopping at Tractor Supply and was loading her purchases into her car when her son took off running.
“He was having a little episode,” Gilbreath said. “She put him in the car and he jumped out and ran into the pasture behind the store.” The mother called police,
The mother called police, and officers quickly arrived to assist. They located the child behind the store. Fayette County EMS checked the child for injuries. He was returned to his mother unharmed.
