La Grange Police Stay Busy the Week of May 24-31
City of La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 24-31.
Agency Assist
On May 24, Patrolman John Wostarek assisted DPS with a traffic accident in the 1000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
On May 24, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 1600 block of Jefferson in regard to assisting the jail staff with an inmate.
On May 24, Patrolman Brian Adams assisted Jackson County Juvenile Probation in attempting to locate a runaway who was believed to be in La Grange.
On May 30, Patrolman David Mohr responded to the 300 block of FM 609 to assist a deputy on a call of a subject who was possibly intoxicated.
Animal Complaint
On May 26, Patrolman Cari Haman took information about dogs that were barking all night at a residence located in the 600 block of N. Washington.
On May 27, Animal Control picked up an injured dog in the 900 block of E. Pearl.
Accident
On May 25, Patrolman Kevin Curringon was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Travis in reference to an accident between a vehicle and a metal pole. Officer met with the trooper who had found the vehicle and interviewed the subject who admitted to hitting pole and leaving. Subject was arrested and transported to jail.
On May 27, Adams responded to the intersection of E. Travis and S. Madison for an accident. Vehicle had failed to yield right of way on E. Travis causing the collision. No injures and both vehicles were towed.
Burglary
On May 24, Wostarek was dispatched to the 300 block of W. Milam in regard to a burglary. Officer took information for the incident report.
Criminal Mischief
On May 27, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 400 block of E. Travis for a juvenile subject who spray-painted the men’s bathroom. Officer arrived and took the juvenile to the police station where he was processed for criminal mischief.
Family Violence
On May 30, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 900 block of N. Horton in regard to family violence. Officer spoke with multiple witnesses. Two subjects were arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail.
Suspicious Person
On May 26, Zwahr spoke with a caller in regard to a suspicious person in the area of the 200 block of E. Lindert.
On May 30, Currington spoke with a caller in the 700 block of E. Milam in regard to a suspicious subject.
Scam
On May 28, Maxwell spoke with a caller in regard to scam phone calls that she was receiving. Officer advised caller to not answer the calls.
Trespassing
On May 29, Zwahr responded to the 600 block of E. Fannin for possible trespassing. No trespassing occurred.
Theft
On May 25, Haman responded to Weikel’s Bakery in the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in reference to a theft.
Verbal Dispute
On May 29, Curington was dispatched to the police station to talk to subject in reference to a verbal dispute that was verbal only.
Welfare Check
On May 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of Sarah Jo Street in regard to a welfare check. Officer made contact with both subjects and both advised that everything was fine.
On May 29, Haman responded to the 200 block of N. Washington for a vehicle stuck on the tracks. Upon arrival there was no vehicle located on the tracks.
Miscellaneous
On May 24, Maxwell was dispatched to the intersection of Jefferson and Travis in regard to flooding. Officer stood by at the location until the water receded.
On May 29, Currington was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Fannin in reference to disorderly conduct. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate.
On May 26, Zwahr spoke with caller in regard to harassment.
