La Grange Police Issue Curfew Violation Warnings
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 14-21.
Curfew Violation
On June 17, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of W. Pearl for juveniles knocking on doors. Wostarek searched the area and located two juveniles. The juveniles were issued a warning for curfew violation.
Alarm
On June 15, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Travis for an alarm. Maxwell made contact with the cleaning crew who advised they set the alarm off on accident.
On June 15, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 600 block of S. Jefferson for an alarm. The business was found to be secure.
On June 17, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Jefferson in regard to an alarm. Wostarek arrived on location and found the building to be secure.
On June 18, Zwahr responded to an alarm in the 100 block of W. Colorado and found the business to be secure.
Alcohol Violation
On June 16, Patrolman Brian Adams responded to the 400 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a male subject consuming alcohol on the premises. The subject was located and arrested on numerous violations.
On June 18, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of E. Pearl for possible alcohol consumption and after Currington talked to the subject he found no alcohol was present.
Assault By Threat
On June 18, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a subject pointing a gun at the caller in the 500 block of W. Lowerline. Mohr took information upon arrival.
Accident
On June 19, Adams responded to the 1300 block of N. Jefferson for an accident. A black Jeep Cherokee failed to control speed and rear-ended a black Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of State Hwy. 71 Eastbound Bypass and N. Jefferson Street. There was minor damage and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
Agency Assist
On June 20, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1600 block of N. Jefferson to help with an aggressive inmate. The subject calmed down and became cooperative.
On June 21, Maxwell assisted a Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy with a disturbance at the Bluff Manor Apartments. A subject was arrested by the Sheriff’s Department and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
Civil Matter
On June 14, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of E. La Fayette for a civil matter.
On June 15, Patrolman Brett Meinardus spoke with a subject at the police station regarding a child custody matter and to notify police of some questionable text messages received.
On June 18, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Live Oak for a civil matter. Currington advised the subjects of their options. On June 18, Mohr received
On June 18, Mohr received a call of a business having an issue with a tenant in the 200 block of S. Ellinger Road. Mohr advised the business to start the eviction process.
On June 19, Wostarek responded to the 700 block of Eckel Street and spoke with a subject about a civil matter.
On June 19, Maxwell responded to the 300 block of N. Horton and spoke with a subject about a civil matter.
Disorderly Conduct
On June 14, Zwahr responded to the 700 block of E. Fannin Street where a caller advised of multiple people hanging out in the street. Zwahr spoke with the subjects at the location.
On June 19, Wostarek was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to an unruly subject. Wostarek arrived on location and the subject had already calmed down. A family member picked up the subject and Wostarek cleared the call.
On June 20, Adams was dispatched to the emergency room at St. Mark’s Place where ER staff requested assistance with a combative subject from Lee County EMS. The Giddings Police Department was on scene. Adams assisted with calming the subject and clearing the scene.
Reckless Driving
On June 15, Zwahr responded to a reckless driver near Hwy. 71 Westbound at the 609 exit. Zwahr searched the area, but was unable to locate the vehicle.
Animal Complaint
On June 14, Zwahr responded to the 300 block of E. Pecan where a caller advised of two dogs in the backyard. Zwahr took the dogs to the animal shelter.
Suspicious Vehicle/Subject On June 14, Currington was
On June 14, Currington was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of Rose Mayer Loop. The vehicle was gone prior to officer’s arrival.
On June 14, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of E. La Fayette Street for a suspicious subject hanging out in the apartment complex’s washateria. The subject was advised to leave and left.
On June 17, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of E. La Fayette in regard to a suspicious vehicle. Wostarek arrived on location and located the vehicle. The subject advised he worked for Union Pacific and due to COVID-19 he stays in his vehicle instead of a hotel.
On June 19, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis in regard to a suspicious person. Wostarek arrived on location and spoke with two subjects. The subjects stated they were waiting for a ride because their car had broken down. The subject left after speaking with Wostarek.
On June 19, Zwahr responded to the 800 block of E. Travis in regard to a suspicious person.
Theft
On June 14, Mohr received a call of a possible threat of prescription drugs from a patient. Upon arriving at One St. Mark’s Place it was found that the patient had not picked up their meds from the pharmacy.
Trespassing
On June 14, Zwahr met with an individual in regard to a subject being in her garage in the 100 block of E. Cedar Street. The subject was gone upon officer’s arrival. Information was taken for a report.
Verbal Dispute
On June 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1500 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business in regard to a verbal dispute. Wostarek arrived on location and spoke with both parties. The subject left after speaking with Wostarek.
