La Grange Police Chief Reports on Recent Activity
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 10-17.
Assault
On May 12, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of an assault in the 1000 block of N. Sunset Lane and on arrival took report.
On May 14, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Washington in regard to an assault. Maxwell took information for a report.
Animal Complaint
On May 11, Patrolman John Wostarek responded to a barking dog in the 800 block of A. Washington. Wostarek arrived on location and searched the area but was unable to locate the barking dog.
On May 13, Animal control officer checked on a horse and a dog in the 400 block of N. College. The owner advised he will take care of them.
On May 16, Mohr received a call of a black dog running loose in the 100 block of the Highway 71 Bypass. Upon arrival Mohr could not capture the dog. Mohr contacted animal control and sent a picture of the dog and he was able to locate the possible owner.
Civil Matter
On May 15, Mohr received a call from a complainant in the 100 block of S. Lynnwood in reference to a civil matter. Mohr spoke with the complainant.
Citizen Assist
On May 10, Patrolman Brett Meinardus spoke with an individual who wanted to know if it was possible to park his truck on the side of the road in the 100 block of S. Vail while he visited his mother for Mother’s Day. Meinardus advised him that he could park the vehicle on the side of the city street.
On May 11, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr assisted a subject with her flat tire in the 1900 block of Highway 159.
Disorderly Conduct
On May 10, Patrolman Brian Adams responded to a vagrant disruption in the 400 block of N. Jefferson on the premises. A subject was located next door and instructed to leave the premises at the request of the property manager.
Driving While Intoxicated
On May 11, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Pearl for a disturbance. Wostarek spoke with several subjects at the location. A male subject was arrested for DWI and criminal mischief and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
Reckless Driving
On May 10, Maxwell was dispatched to the 800 block of E. Camp in regard to an orange Jeep and maroon Chevy pickup racing. Maxwell searched the area but was unable to locate the two vehicles.
Scam
On May 13, Meinardus received a call from an individual that advised she received a fake check in the mail with instructions to cash it and send money back. The caller contacted the bank and verified that the check was fake and contacted the police.
Suspicious Vehicle
On May 11, Mohr received a call of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in front of a residence in the 1000 block of E. Pearl. Upon arrival Mohr found the vehicle was locked, unoccupied and he was unable to locate the owner.
On May 15, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Vail in regard to two suspicious vehicles. It was determined that both of the vehicles were construction vehicles.
On May 16, Zwahr received a call of a vehicle outside of the emergency room honking a horn. The vehicle was gone upon officers arrival.
Suspicious Person
On May 13, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of N. Main in regard to a suspicious person. Wostarek arrived on location and spoke with an employee. The employee stated that one of the patients was outside.
On May 16, Zwahr spoke with a caller in the 500 block of N. Horton in regard to a suspicious person.
Theft
On May 11, Zwahr responded to the 400 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a theft. Officer arrested the subject.
On May 12, Zwahr spoke with caller from the 500 block of Koenig Lane in reference to a theft.
On May 15, Patrolman Kevin Currington spoke with a complainant who needed to report her cell phone stolen.
Trespassing
On May 10, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 300 block of Jefferson in reference to a subject that was trespassing. The subject was arrested.
On May 10, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Main in regard to subject trespassing. Maxwell advised the subject he needed to leave the premises.
On May 11, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Jefferson in reference to a subject on location that had an active criminal trespass warning. Currington located the subject and the subject was arrested and transported to jail.
On May 14, Adams responded to the 200 block of N. Madison and completed a criminal trespass affidavit for rental property owned. Adams will attempt to locate the subject and serve the warning.
Welfare Check
On May 15, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of W. Travis to a welfare check. The subject was found to be fine.
On May 16, Patrolman Cari Haman provided a welfare check in the 300 block of Fireside.
On May 16, Haman provided a welfare check on a subject in the 1800 block of N. Jefferson.
Miscellaneous
On May 10, Maxwell spoke with a subject in the 900 block of N. Madison in regard to harassment.
On May 13, Maxwell spoke with a caller in regard to a civil matter in the 100 block of E. Fannin.
On May 14, Meinardus spoke to a caller who requested that officers patrol the carwashes more frequently because of the illegal dumping and loitering that has been done at the locations.
On May 15, Currington was dispatched to the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to counterfeit money.
On May 16, Zwahr responded to the 1000 block of N. Sunset to assist Medic 1 in gaining entry into the residence for lift assist.
On May 16, Mohr received a call of loud music in the 400 block of N. Vail and upon arriving did not find any loud music.
On May 17, Zwahr responded to One St. Mark’s Place and took information for a juvenile complaint.
