La Grange ISD Announces Graduation Procedures
La Grange lSD class of 2020 commencement will be held Thursday, June 25 at Leopard Stadium. Procedures for the event are being announced. La Grange lSD is proud to give seniors the opportunity of an inperson graduation ceremony.
The procedures for the ceremony are based on guidance provided by the Office of the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, and the Education Commissioner of Texas, Mike Morath. All attendees are to adhere to these procedures provided so that La Grange lSD complies with the directives from the state. Non-compliance with the procedures could void attendance. Attendance is by invitation only and everyone must have a ticket to enter. All graduates will be issued tickets to distribute to their guests.
Arrival
• No more than 10 individuals (including young children) or fewer per graduate in attendance (no exceptions)
• Graduates will have assigned times and assigned gates to enter the stadium (four gates utilized)
• Guests must arrive with the graduate and enter the stadium at the same time (no exceptions)
• No one will be admitted without a ticket (no exceptions)
• Guests and graduates must sign off on the compliance screening questions
• Screening questions are located on the ticket provided to the graduate for their guests
• Graduates must report directly to their seat on the field upon entry to the stadium
• Guests must report directly to their assigned seats upon entry into the stadium
• Families who requested special seating for a guest will be seated together as a family group on the track
• Ushers will assist guests in finding their assigned seats
• If guests leave the stadium, no re-entry is permitted
• Face masks are strongly encouraged
Ceremony
• Social distancing of six feet to be observed between different family groups of 10 or fewer for each graduate
• Restroom facilities will be open on the home and visitors sides of the stadium
• The number of people in a restroom at one time will be limited
• An attendant will be present during the entire ceremony to sanitize the restroom facilities
• Young children are to be closely monitored to ensure the requirement of social distancing
• Children will not be allowed to move about the stadium unattended
• A professional photographer will take a photograph of the graduate and their diploma
• Guests will not be able to be on the field at any time before, during, or after the ceremony
• Please take family photographs prior to arriving at the stadium
Leaving the Ceremony
• Guests are to remain seated at the conclusion of the ceremony
• Directions will be given to graduates and guests on how to leave the stadium
• Guests will be dismissed as a family with their graduate
• Guests and graduates are asked to exit the stadium upon being dismissed; guests and graduates may bring one bottle of unopened water into the stadium
The ceremony will be live streamed by KTIM radio station and broadcast by KVLGKBUK.
