Kyler Buzek Awarded La Grange Rotary Vocational Scholarship

Kyler Buzek

La Grange High School graduate Kyler Buzek was selected to receive a $5,250 vocational scholarship from Rotary District 5870. The Rotary District consists of 23 counties in central Texas and only seven students are chosen to receive scholarship funds. These scholarships fund vocational education and training that prepare students for jobs, careers at various levels from a trade to a craft, or a position in engineering, accounting, nursing, medicine and other healing arts, architecture, pharmacy, and law that do not require a four year college degree to perform. The Rotary Club of La Grange was proud to nominate Kyler Buzek and we are thrilled he was one of the seven students selected.

Buzek will be attending Texas State Technical College in the fall and studying Digital Media Design. Kyler was an officer in the La Grange High School Media Club and credits his high school AV classes for helping him discover a career field that he is excited to pursue. “My past interest became a passion when I enrolled in the audio visual class at La Grange High School. Learning and participating in class, student news, and media club grew this passion during my junior and senior years of high school. I have always had a gift with programming and computers and through the audio visual class I found a true passion for a career that I would love to do and could have endless growth,” said Buzek.

One of Rotary’s mottos is service above self and scholarship recipients will complete a service project related to their area of study. Buzek will work with the Rotary Club of La Grange on completing his project over the next year. “Kyler has a strong history of service and the club is excited to collaborate with him on serving our community,” said La Grange Rotary Club president Allison MacKenzie.
