Karisch Wins Champion Junior Heifer Exhibitor at Heifer Show
Rheagan Karisch participated in the Fayette County Fair Commercial Heifer Show on Friday, Aug. 28. She showed her Beefmaster heifer, Little E, and placed fourth. She also exhibited a pen of one commercial heifer.
On Saturday, Aug. 29, during the awards presentation, this amazing young cattlewoman swept the contests in the junior division, earning first place in the herdsman quiz, the record book/interview and salesmanship. She was also awarded the Champion Junior Heifer Exhibitor trophy.
SLM News
The Shared Lutheran Ministry (SLM) of Fayette County will offer parking lot church at 9 a.m. in Warrenton on Sept. 6 and 20. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs and sit under the trees, distanced from other worshippers. It has been lovely under the huge oaks at that time of day. Holy Communion will be offered to those in attendance and for those watching online. You may use bread and wine/ grape juice from home or stop by your church and pick up prepackaged communion elements.
The SLM will still offer worship at noon on Sunday on KTIM radio, 89.1, and it will still record worship to be seen on its Facebook page (Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County), YouTube (SLM Worship) and on the website.
Hunting Season
Hunting and fishing in Texas kicks off the new season on Tuesday, Sept. 1. You can buy your license at http://bit. ly/NewTXLicenses. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Agency receives 100% of the license sales, which support their work and what they do to protect Texas’ wild things and wild places.
Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corp. will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.
Chamber of Commerce
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Check the website for the location.
St. John Lutheran
The St. John Lutheran Church of Ellinger is getting a facelift. Recently, it was off with the layers of old paint and on with a new coat of fresh white paint. The majestic landmark stands out in our community. Hopefully, church services will start up here again soon.
