June 14 Declared Flag Day

La Grange Mayor Janet Moerbe (seated) has proclaimed June 14 as Flag Day in La Grange. KJZT Family Life Society No. 31 accepted the proclamation. National Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as our national symbol by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777. The official date of June 14 as National Flag Day was proclaimed in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson and permanently established in 1949 by the U.S. Congress. For over 125 years, members of KJZT Family Life, a non-profit organization that combines volunteerism and business, have contributed to their hometowns and churches by participating in community and parish projects and fundraisers.
