Julie Korenek Awarded $4,000 Meadows Foundation Scholarship
Julie Korenek, a 2020 graduate of Fayetteville ISD, received the Meadows Foundation Scholarship of $4,000 that was awarded by the Texas Interscholastic League Foundation. She was able to submit an application because she placed last year at state in UIL Ready Writing. She will be attending Texas A&M and majoring in poultry science. Julie is the daughter of Aimee and James Korenek.
Rosary Anniversary
The 32nd anniversary of praying the Rosary as a group at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger will be commemorated on Friday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m. at the church.
Food Truck
The Central Texas Food Bank truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Friday, Aug. 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. This will be a drive-thru only pickup for all clients.
Birthdays

Bike Ride Rescheduled
The Fayetteville Good Old Summertime Classic Bicycle Ride has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 15. Raffle tickets are being sold for two red Tommasini bicycles to be given away that day. One of the bicycles can be seen at Joe’s Place in Fayetteville and tickets may be purchased: five for $20. All the proceeds from this ride and raffle will be donated to the Fayetteville ISD. SLM Worship
On Sunday, Aug. 23, we will welcome the new vicar for Shared Lutheran Ministry, Vicar Cole, at a parking lot worship in Warrenton at 9 a.m.
Other scheduled parking lot worships include Sept. 6 and 20.
