Houston Man Arrested Here For Unlawfully Carrying A Weapon

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on last Friday night at around 11:46 p.m. Deputy Adam Mack conducted a traffic stop on a silver passenger car for a speeding violation on U.S. Highway 90 westbound just west of Schulenburg.

After contact with the driver and passenger Mack observed nervous behavior. A probable cause search was conducted after the driver admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. Schulenburg P.D. Sgt. Kyle Hengst assisted Mack on the traffic stop. Mack located marijuana, mushrooms, drug paraphernalia and a 9 mm handgun.

Arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center was 25-year-old Malik Reyna-Mclemore of Houston who was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana.
