Holy Cross Reopens, Pastor Bible Class Continues
Holy Cross Lutheran Church has resumed services while complying with State guidelines for corporate worship. The Pastor’s Bible Class immediately follows the service in the sanctuary; however, all other Sunday School classes remain cancelled. Members 65 and older and those with underlying health conditions are encouraged to continue to worship from their homes.

Jr. Confirmation
Confirmand Questioning will be Friday, May 29 at 7 p.m. Jr. Confirmation will be held during the church service on Sunday, May 31.
Vacation Bible School Canceled
Vacation Bible School scheduled for June 8-10 is canceled.
Faith Lutheran High
Registration for the 2020-21 school year continues and the school is looking forward to adding more students to the family. Golf Tournament
Faith Lutheran’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament scheduled for May 30, at Pine Forest Golf Club in Bastrop has been postponed.
Holy Cross Ladies Aid
The Ladies Aid will resume meeting on Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
Lutheran World Relief
The annual Lutheran World Relief collection of quilts and health kits has been postponed until November. The Ladies Aid will be collecting health kits later in September and October.
Sewing Circle
The sewing circle, which usually meets on Thursday mornings, will continue making quilts when it is deemed safe to do so. All items that have been collected will be kept until November. Watch for the church Facebook page and e-mail for further information.
AMEN Food Pantry
As the response to COVID-19 virus continues, Holy Cross Lutheran Church continues to be a drop off point for the AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange. As always, you can bring nonperishable food items and place them in the AMEN basket in the hallway. There is always a need for unexpired dry-boxed staples, canned meats, veggies and soups.
Aluminum Cans
Aluminum cans continue to be collected by Trail Life 143 of Giddings. Cans may be brought to the Holy Cross Picnic Grounds at your convenience and placed in the large wire bin.
Recycle Trailer
The recycling trailer has returned to the Warda Self-Storage facility.

Birthday Celebration
Helping Gladys Giese celebrate her special birthday with a luncheon on Sunday, May 24 were her daughters Roxanne Davis of Lawton, Oklahoma and Robin and Curtis Wedgeworth of Warda; granddaughter Lesley and Miguel Soto and Brisa of Warda; and John Hoffman of Northrup.
Later in the afternoon they were joined virtually by grandson Jon and Carrie Gooch, Laurie and Nicholas of Murphy, Texas; granddaughter Alison and Tim Parnell, Carmyn and Declan of Hurst, Texas; granddaughter Miranda Blackmon and Ryan Corbin living in Guam, and great-granddaughter Lexi and Peter Formin of Wisconsin.
