Henkel Hall Changing from Wedding & Event Center to Year-Round Antiques Venue

Interest in Round Top as a destination is greatly spurred by its nationally known reputation as a center for antiques during the annual spring, winter and fall shows. So much so, that when those shows are not operating, visitors are often heard asking “where are the antiques?” - as few are to be found when show venues close.

In response, the idea of a year-round antique venue in downtown Round Top emerged. It will be located in Henkel Hall, in Henkel Square Market, the historic and popular shopping village in the center of town that has its own collection of restaurants and boutiques.

The concept revolves around hosting an invited set of fine antiques dealers and designers to participate in the new venture. By opening day, slated to be in January of 2021, Henkel Hall will be filled with an eclectic mix of quality dealers specializing in antiques and home decor. The venue will have a professional sales staff and be open the same hours as other stores in Henkel Square Market, typically Wednesday through Sunday, with extended hours and days during the antique weeks.

Unique to the center will be the ability of dealers to hold their own happenings and have use of the Hall’s kitchen to cater their events. During open hours the Hall’s custom crafted wood bar will serve as a hospitality area for guests. In addition to a fully equipped catering kitchen, the new center has a comprehensive AV system. Show room participants will be able to use both for various event purposes such as hosted seminars and exhibits. It will create its own signature events, seminars and auctions. In all, over 6,000 sq. ft. will be under contract. The size and scope will allow shoppers of home decor and antiques the ability to experience a large variety and enjoy the process in ways they have never been able to do before in Round Top.

Henkel Square Market gardens, seating and parking are being expanded and enhanced for even more shopper enjoyment and convenience, as well.
