Free Entry for Event at La Grange’s Texas Quilt Museum This Saturday
“Texas Grand Masters” exhibit co-curators Vicki Mangum and Marcia Kaylakie will give a free talk Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Texas Quilt Museum in La Grange has reopened and you have a chance to see their held-over exhibits (and learn a lot about one of them) for free Saturday.

The museum will present a Gallery Talk of “Texas Grand Masters: Timeless Quilts” with co-curators Vicki Mangum and Marcia Kaylakie on Saturday, July 25, at 3 p.m. They will guide you through the quilts on display in this exhibit, which was open specifically for Lone Star State quilters over the age of 75. Sponsorship for this exhibit is provided by the Lucille Gaebler Klein Fund.

Please note that due to COVID-19 related capacity restrictions, no more than 30 visitors will be allowed in the Museum at any one time. Masks will be required for entry.

You’ll also have a chance to see the other two exhibits currently on display, “My Mexico by Quilters de México” (a U.S. premier!) and “Fun with Fractals and Other Mathematical Quilts.” Admission is free beginning at 2 p.m.

The extensive gift shop with many brand new items will also be open, and be sure to take a stroll through our Grandmother’s Flower Garden adjacent to the Museum building.

The museum is operating at 25% attendance capacity (for a maximum of 30 visitors allowed in the Museum at any one time( and will establish social distancing of six feet apart for visitors.

The museum will offer additional hand sanitizing stations in areas around the galleries, lobby, gift shop and restrooms.
