Fayetteville Students Receive Over $340,000 in Scholarships
Twenty-two students of the senior class of Fayetteville ISD received their diplomas Friday, May 29 in ceremonies held on the school’s track field at 8 p.m.
Amber Canik opened the ceremonies by offering the invocation followed by Richard Schilling leading the audience in the pledge of allegiance.
Julie Korenek, salutatorian, gave her address followed by Miles Gillette-Buckhorn, valedictorian, giving his address.
Brynn Lopez, principal, gave the certification of the graduates and Dr. Jeff Harvey, superintendent, awarded diplomas to Lucy Bible, Cole Brackman, Gage Briggs, Amber Canik, Dustin Canik, Lizbeth Capetillo-Flores, Anahy Carrillo, Kaitlyn Cartwright, Colby Deatherage, Gracie Dyer, Miles Gillette-Buckhorn, Noah Keepers, Sydney Knight, Julie Korenek, Braden Kubala, Douglas Mitchell, Richard Schilling, Klayten Schmitt, Cloe Schulle, Chelsie Toddy, Kyler Vasut and Carlos Vera.
The graduates were awarded more than 42 scholarships in the amount of over $340,000.00
The benediction was given by Dustin Canik and the closing was by Cloe Schulle.
The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks show.
In Church Services
The St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fayetteville and the St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville will be having in church services this Sunday, June 7. St. Paul will meet at their regular time of 10:30 a.m. and St. John at 10 a.m.
Remote services will still be offered also. You can join in on Facebook, YouTube, the SLM webpage and by tuning in to KTIM 89.1 at noon on Sunday.
Museum Open
Remember the Fayetteville Heritage Museum is now open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Museum is located on the west side of the square.
No Barbecue
The Knights of Columbus regularly scheduled barbecue to go for Father’s Day has been cancelled.
June Wedding Anniversaries
Those couples celebrating wedding anniversaries are Vincent and Shelly Orsak-June 6; Joe and Diane Janish and Ted and Wanda Fritsch-7; and Robert and Violet Krenek-12.
