Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Saw Increase In Calls in 2021

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports an increase of calls for service and offense reports for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for the year of 2021.

The Sheriff’s dispatch office handles all calls for EMS services, Fire Department Services, three police departments, as well as for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. For the year of 2021, a total of 13,396 calls for service came in to the dispatch office, versus 12,239 for the year of 2020. This was an increase of 1,157 calls for service; a 9.5% increase over 2020.

Sheriff Korenek further reports that the number of reports taken by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Deputies has increased in 2021, versus 2020. This includes all offense/incident reports as well as pro-active arrest reports. The year of 2021 showed a total of 1,112 for the year, versus the year of 2020 which only had 905 reports. This was an increase of 205 reports; a 22.5% increase of reports generated in 2021.

Over the past five years, there has been a 14% increase in calls for service and a 12.5% increase in reports generated.
