Fayette County EMS Director, Josh Vandever is proud to announce that Fayette County EMS has been named EMS Agency of the Year by the Texas EMS Alliance. This honor recognizes the department’s outstanding commitment to delivering high-quality emergency medical care, innovation in service delivery, and dedication to the EMS profession.

The award celebrates the department’s continuous efforts in improving its service delivery, striving for costeffectiveness, maximizing revenues from operations and investing in the mental and financial well-being of its employees. It also highlights the strong partnerships the department has built with local organizations and neighboring departments to provide seamless and efficient care despite the challenges of operating in a rural county that lost its local hospital almost two years ago.

“We are deeply honored to receive this award, which reflects the hard work and passion of every member of our department. Our mission is to offer high quality care and be as efficient as possible with taxpayer dollars in operating our system. It is great to see that the things that the amazing team members within our department are doing are being noticed by other leaders in our profession. I am very proud of our team,” said Fayette County EMS Director, Josh Vandever.

“The Commissioners and I are very proud of the services that Chief Vandever and his team provide our county daily. We recognize their hard work and dedication and are very proud of them for achieving this honor. Fayette County is fortunate to have such dedicated public servants working here,” said Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller.

The EMS Agency of the Year award is awarded annually to an agency that has demonstrated teamwork, innovation and a commitment to pursuing excellence to improve the delivery of emergency medical services to the jurisdictions they serve. Fayette County EMS was chosen for its leadership in mental health, collaboration with partnering EMS agencies, and continuous professional development.
