They started receiving cattle at this new location on Sunday, Aug. 2. They are open to receive your livestock on Sundays from 8 a.m. until dark, and from 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Mondays.

SLM News

The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County (SLM) will be holding a parking lot worship at Warrenton on Aug. 9. The service will begin at 9 a.m. This will be Vicar Jonathan’s last Sunday. If you cannot make it, he will be available for a drive-through “reception” in front of the Rutersville church from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on Aug. 9. Another option to say farewell will be via Zoom that morning from 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m.

The SLM Council met last week and approved the parking lot worship schedule as follows: Aug. 2, 9, 23 (Vicar Cole’s first Sunday with us), Sept. 6 and 20. The SLM will meet in Warrenton at 9 a.m. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs and sit under the trees, distanced from other worshippers. It has been lovely under the huge oaks at that time of day.

We will make decisions about in-person worship on a month-to-month basis. We will continue to broadcast the service on Facebook, YouTube and KTIM.

When we have parking lot worship, we will celebrate communion. You can use your own bread/wine/juice or pick up a pre-packaged cup from your church.

Organ Fundraiser

On Sunday, Aug. 2, a magnificent organ concert fundraiser for the pipe organ in St. Paul, Fayetteville was held at 2 p.m. If you are able to help with the organ repairs, you can send your donations to the church, with checks made out to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Rain

Lawns and pastures have turned green again in the Ellinger area. On Sunday, Aug. 2, we received three inches of rainfall. Ditches were overflowing, streets flooded and tree limbs cluttered yards, all due to a passing thunderstorm with high winds and pea-sized hail. The cracked, parched soil welcomed the precipitation.

Sewer and Water

The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 10, at 7 p.m. at the Elliinger Fire Station.
