Ellinger Arrests, I-10 Drugs

At approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday June 1, the Fayette County Sheriffs Office was advised of an incident that occurred in Austin and that the suspected vehicle was possibly headed into Fayette County on Hwy 71. Deputies located the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the Ellinger area where several subjects wearing all dark, long sleeve clothing fled from the vehicle. Two suspects had been apprehended at press time.

• On Friday Deputy Adam Mack was dispatched to assist a motorist on the east bound off ramp of I-10 in Schulenburg.

Mack arrived and observed the driver to be very fidgety and sweaty which are common indicators of narcotic use. Through further investigation the driver: Shanta Earthly of San Antonio was found to be in possession of ecstasy pills, THC oil, and Marijuana. She was placed into custody, transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center, and booked for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
