Dustin Canik Receives Scholarship

Dustin Canik of Fayetteville was selected to receive the 2020 All American Scholar Award sponsored by Catholic Life Insurance, one of the nation’s top 10 largest fraternal life insurers. Each year, Catholic Life awards 35 scholarships worth $1,000 each to graduating high school seniors who have not only demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and academic achievements but have also gone above and beyond in their civic duties and made a difference in their communities.

Canik, who plans to attend Blinn College, is the son of Randall and Debora Canik. He submitted an impressive resume of extracurricular activities that include National Honor Society, Student Council, Yearbook, School News Program, Fayetteville Class Officer, UIL Academics, Book Club, Catholic Youth Ministry, Altar Serving, basketball, cross country, track, tennis, waiter at Orsak’s Café and groundskeeper for Hruska’s at Park. He has volunteered with Fayetteville ISD, Lion’s Club, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Adopt-a-Highway and the Central Texas Food Bank
