Dirty Business: Drugs Found Inside Septic Cleaning Truck

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday morning around 11:00 am Drug Interdiction Investigators continue to get waste off I-10 in Fayette County. Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conducted a traffic stop on I-10 E/B at the 662 MM near Flatonia for traffic violations.

Smith met with the female driver of a 2014 Dodge septic cleaning truck who did not have a Driver’s license and was very nervous. The male passenger also exhibiting nervous behavior gave inconsistent travel plans. Consent to search the vehicle was giving to Smith who opened the lid on the cleaning tank and located multiple bundles which were wrapped in plastic cellophane, axle grease, and tape consistent with illegal narcotics. The bundles contained 350 lbs. of Marijuana, arrested was the driver 45 yr. old Stephanie Navejar and passenger 53 yr. old

Jorge Sanchez both of Cotulla, Texas. Both individuals were transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana. Assisting Smith was Flatonia Police Sgt. Mark Pritchard.
