Deputies Intercept Vehicle For Evading Arrest

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Wednesday, June 10 a call was received about a disturbance at the Amigos gas station in Flatonia. Flatonia Police Officers Cody George and Mark Pritchard arrived at the gas station and discovered the subject had left on FM 609 traveling northbound in a brown Honda Civic.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant David Beyer located the vehicle on FM 609 and attempted to stop the vehicle for further investigation when the vehicle fled from him at a high rate of speed northbound on FM 609.

Deputies prepared to intercept the vehicle further north on FM 609 when it was determined the vehicle had taken the Hostyn cutoff and traveled to Highway 77 and continued northbound. Deputy Rick Bohlmann observed the vehicle turn into a driveway in the 3500 block of Highway 77 and pursued it detaining the occupants at that location.

Arrested and booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center was 29-year-old Lazaro-Enrique Nunez Leyva for the offense of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle. A passenger from the vehicle was detained for further investigation and subsequently released.
