Death of an Antiques Dealer Here Investigated

The Texas Rangers and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a suspicious death in the Round Top area.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a man was found deceased in a driveway near the intersection of SH 237 and Hills Rd around 7:48 a.m. Thursday morning, Oct. 22.

The Record has learned that the man was Arik Lerner, an antiques dealer from San Diego, California. The Sheriff’s Office declined to speculate on the cause of death at this time. The body was sent off for an autopsy.

Texas Rangers James Sears and Eric Zane are investigating the case with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office.
