Czech Heritage Society Meets

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society held its fall meeting Sunday, Sept. 20, at Hanslik Hall at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange.

Members were reminded of the Fayette County Czech Heritage Month Proclamation, scheduled for Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. on the second floor of the Fayette County Courthouse. The group was also encouraged to attend and volunteer at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center’s Heritage Fest and Muziky, scheduled for Oct. 16-17. Following the business meeting, Vera Wehring led a Kahoot game, which quizzed members on Czech words and phrases. Members then enjoyed a svačina (snack) and fellowship, with games including Left, Right, Center and Taroks.

The annual CHS Christmas Party will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9. An invitation with more information will be sent out to members and can be found on the Fayette County Czech Heritage Society Facebook Page.
