Classic Car Raffle To Benefit Gardenia E. Janssen Shelter
Who would like to win a Cobra? A 1966 Shelby Cobra Replica, that is! Well now is your chance because the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is holding a raffle for a 302 cubic inch Ford engine, 5-speed standard transmission red Shelby Cobra with white racing stripes.
This classic car was generously donated by Betty and John Burkland of Rutersville who have been long time supports of the animal shelter. The car has an elegant wood steering wheel, 15” polished Weld wheels, Cooper Cobra white letter raised radials, and is valued at $35,000.

Only 2,000 tickets will be sold so get yours today! You will also get your chance to see the car in person by following the animal shelter on their Facebook page, Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, serving Fayette County Texas, because they will soon be listing venues where you can see it in all its glory.
The raffle will end on Dec. 31, 2020, and the winner will be drawn and announced on Jan. 4, 2021. The winner will be notified by email and will be responsible for taxes and transportation. All of the proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets will go to support the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter.
“We solely operate on fundraisers and we have had seven fundraisers cancelled since COVID-19 started and we are trying to make up the difference in our annual fundraising efforts through a more comfortable portal in today’s world,” said Shelter Director Teresa Stanley-Brown. “This raffle is tremendously important to us because we are a small shelter in a small community but we serve all of Fayette County so we need support to save these animals lives” added Stanley-Brown.
The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter serves all of Fayette County and is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The organization is primarily funded by donations, grants, and fundraising so any help is greatly appreciated.
