Chris Joplin Kills 60 Hogs in June
Local hog hunter, Chris Joplin, reported harvesting a total of 60 hogs for the month of June. Chris has been working hard to bring down the numbers of hogs in the area since he moved out to Muldoon. There have also been some hogs removed from the population by vehicles. Black hogs on the road are hard to see and cause lots of damage. Be careful when out and about.
New Flag
When you are going by the park, be sure and check out the new flags that are flying. We might not be able to gather as in years past, but the flags at the community park are proudly on display. Thanks to Randy Stork for taking the time to replace not only the flags, but also the rope from which they are displayed. This improvement was just in time for the Fourth of July.
Out and About
Debra Schwartzenburg just got home from her month-long grandma duty with her granddaughter, Adeline Grace Mitchell. Debra traveled to Connecticut to take care of Adeline Grace while her mom, Michelle Mitchell, went back to work. During the last week of her stay, Debra was joined by Grandpa John Schwartzenburg, who wanted to spend a little time with his precious granddaughter, too. John and Debra traveled home and self-quarantined after all of their exposure on the planes and in airports.
Cynthia Kulak came in for a visit with her mom and dad, Dana and Darrell Kulak, and grandpa, Devon Boehnke. Cynthia has completed college and is waiting to hear from Disney on when to report to work.
Anne Marie Cherry is home for a visit from her position as professor of horn at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. Anne Marie is on summer break as COVID-19 has affected their schedule, too. She is still conducting a few lectures via the internet, but mostly she is home enjoying the country life and visiting friends and family.
Rain
Muldoon did see some rain since the last writing. Around three quarters of an inch fell and was very welcome in the area. Now, Saharan dust seems to have filled the air with it being visible as the heavier clouds blow through the area. This phenomenon made Muldoon seem to have big city smog and left everything dusty.
Little Library
Do not forget about the Little Lending Library for some free entertainment. Borrow a book or leave a book to lend at our Little Lending Library in front of the fire station on the east side of the tracks. This is a great resource for reading materials. What a blessing for our little community to have.
