CDA Court No. 1962 Has Texas State Court Memorial Scholarship Winners

In support of education, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA), Texas State Court awarded their annual Memorial Scholarships on May 1, 2020. Forty-six Memorial Scholarships totaling $44,000.00 were given to qualifying high school seniors of 2020. Courts throughout Texas sponsoring winners were notified and asked to present the scholarships on behalf of the Texas State Court; and Court Annunciation #1962 La Grange had three winners.

Court Annunciation Scholarship Co-Chairman Stacy Ryza congratulated and introduced the Texas State Court Memorial Scholarship winners and their qualifying CDA member while Regent Mary Lou Anderle presented the scholarships at the May 26 meeting of Court Annunciation No. 1962.

Mikaylee Supak from La Grange High School received $750.00 and her mother is Renee Supak. Vicente Cabrera from Weimar High School received $750.00 and his mother is Melissa Cabrera. Emelia Ambrose from Timber Creek High School in Fort Worth received $500.00 and her grandmother is Shirley Schaeffer (her mother is Lauri Ambrose).

Court Annunciation No. 1962 met at 7 p.m. in the meeting room off the Narthex at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the guidelines for meeting during COVID-19 being followed. Helping prepare the presentation was Court Annunciation Scholarship Co-Chairman Elizabeth Kallus and committee member and photographer Veronica Olivares Garza.
