The first regular season high school sporting event in La Grange in five months was held Tuesday as the Lady Leps opened their volleyball season against Weimar. The contest debuted new rules for athletes and spectators alike. The complete new guidelines for fans appears on Page A6 today. A story on the match appears on Page B1. Right, middle: About 120 fans showed up for the game, including Fayette County Emergency Management Coordinator Craig Moreau, who said everything appeared to be conducted safely. Every other bleacher was marked-off to assist with distancing fans. Right, lower: La Grange’s Maddi Fritz sets a ball Tuesday as a pair of Weimar players at the net wear face coverings while playing. Competing athletes do not have to wear masks, but they had to while on the bench. Photos by Jeff Wick
