Top La Grange Seniors and their Notable Teachers were Honored

Rose Burton is the daughter of George and Lori-Learned Burton. She plans to attend Texas A&M and study visualization. She chose Alizabeth Calhoun as her special teacher.

Lauren Huenefeld is the daughter of John and Tina Huenefeld. She plans to attend Blinn College and study athletic training. She chose Erica Williamson as her special teacher.

Becca Heinrich is the daughter of Bruce and Michelle Heinrich. She plans to attend Midland College where she will play volleyball and major in business. She chose Nicole Rerich as her special teacher.

Abigail Weltner is the daughter of Vance and Melissa Weltner. She plans to attend Texas State University and study pediatric nursing. She chose Alejandra Caldera as her special teacher.

Benjamin Newton is the son of Mike and Kimberly Newton. He plans to attend the University of Mississippi to study Arabic and German translation. He chose Heather Muesse as his special teacher.

Lauren Lehmann is the daughter of Lenny and Julie Lehmann. She plans to attend Texas A&M and major in history with a focus on constitutional law. She chose Erin Muil as her special teacher.

Mara Weikel is the daughter of Becky and Philip Weikel. She plans to attend Texas A&M and study to be a wildlife biologist. She chose Jo Ann Morgensen as her special teacher.

Megan Schulze is the daughter of Melvin Schulze and Virginia Raley. She plans to attend Texas A&M to study math to become a math teacher. She chose Michelle Caughman as her special teacher.

Jordyn von Minden is the daughter of Bradley and Misti von Minden. She plans to attend Texas A&M and become an English teacher. She chose Laurie Stork as her special teacher.

Alexandria Havelka is the daughter of Nick and Cynthia Havelka. She plans to attend Texas State and major in dance with a focus on studio ownership. She chose Tracey Faske as her special teacher.

Mikaylee Supak is the daughter of Mickey and Renee Supak. She plans to attend Texas A&M to study medicine with a focus on plastic surgery. She chose Kyle Adams as her special teacher.

Hunter Pearson is the son of Kreg and Angie Pearson. He plans to attend Texas A&M and study engineering. He chose Barbara Ryza as his special teacher.

Laney Urban is the daughter of Chris and Kelly Urban. She plans to attend Texas A&M and study recreation park and tourism sciences. She chose Casey Lewis-Wagner as her special teacher.

Madelynn Stevens is the daughter of Troy and Diana Stevens. She plans to attend Texas A&M to study business, with a focus on supply chain. She chose Ann Raborn as her special teacher.

Erica Orona is the daughter of Benjamin and Margarita Orona. She plans to attend The University of Texas. She chose Charles Griste as her special teacher.

Noah Ehler is the son of Dave and Heidi Ehler. He plans to attend Texas A&M to become a financial advisor. He chose Gretchen Ledwik as his special teacher.

Olivia Rodriguez is the daughter of Tommy Rodriguez and Alizabeth Calhoun. She plans to attend The University of Oklahoma and study theatre management. She chose Brian Cravens as her special teacher.

La Grange High School held its Academic Recognition Banquet Monday at the Hostyn Parish Hall Pavilion with social distancing precautions in place.

The top 17 seniors based on grade point average were honored along with their parents. Each student also got to select a special teacher that has impacted their life to be honored at the banquet.

The featured speaker was Jessica Demny, a graduate of the LHS Class of 2010.

Thoughts from the students about their teachers were read to the crowd as well as messages from the teachers to the students.
