Prauses Plan Return

“We’re not done yet,” said Gary Prause of the Prause family, which has run Prause Meat Market since the 1890s in downtown La Grange.

Gary said he and other family members have been making plans to re-open the meat market and barbeque place, which has been closed for the past three months because of coronavirus precautions.

“We’re thinking about the last week in June or the first week of July for reopening,” Gary said.

He said when they do reopen they will have fresh and barbequed chicken and pork and sausage, but probably not beef for a while, until prices come down.

Gary also said safety will be of utmost importance.

“We’ve gotta make sure it’s safe for our customers but also safe for ourselves,” said Gary.
