Nine Times Usual # of Unemployed Filing for Benefits in Fayette County

The number of unemployed in Fayette County continues to grow.

For the week ending April 18, some 71 more people in Fayette County applied for unemployment benefits, and 70 more did so for the week ending April 25, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.

That means in the six week period between March 21 and April 25, a total of 503 Fayette County residents applied for unemployment benefits.

By contrast, during that same six-week span last year, only 58 Fayette County residents applied for benefits.
