Locals Love La Grange Utility Challenge is Still Ongoing
The City of La Grange wants to help our local business community during these challenging times and we need your help. The City of La Grange is hosting the Locals Love La Grange Utility Challenge again in which the City is offering utility rebates on City utilities for local receipts. You read that right, you could earn a credit on your City utility bill by buying and eating locally, or by purchasing a gift card from your favorite downtown store, or by buying yourself a new outfit or home decor at a local boutique. Our local businesses make the possibilities seem endless. Please keep in mind that the goal of this program is to support small businesses, which for these purposes, a local business is any business within the city limits of La Grange and has less than 50 employees. We encourage people to use this program to shop small and support businesses adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Think of local restaurants, retail businesses, and service industries that have been impacted by this crisis and use this program to help your neighbors.
How does it work? The process is easy:
1. Shop at small businesses inside the La Grange city limits between May 29-June 15, 2020 to receive a credit on your July 2020 La Grange Utility bill for residential services
■ Spend a total of $25, receive $15 credit
■ Spend a total of $50, receive $30 credit
■ Spend a total of $75, receive $45 credit (maximum)
■ Total spent may be at one business or multiple businesses
■ Receipt(s) must have business name and date of purchase
2. Write your name (as it appears on your utility statement), phone number, and La Grange Utility Residential Account # on the receipt(s).
3. Submit all receipt(s) for desired credit amount at one time. Receipts can be submitted at City Hall located at 155 E. Colorado Street. Receipts can also be emailed to Supportlocal@cityoflg.com.
