Coronavirus Cases Rise

The number of coronavirus cases in Fayette County continues to rise. Tuesday afternoon, June 23, there were 67 confirmed cases in the county. That includes 27 recoveries and two deaths. That figure of 52 is up by 10 from just a week ago. There were 33 active cases

Precinct 1 has the most active cases in the county with 12.

For the first time in a long time Precinct 3 (Flatonia area) no longer has the most active cases in the county. Pct. 3 has the most recoveries (14) with seven active cases.

The county is reporting seven active cases in Pct. 4 (Schulenburg area) and five active cases in Pct. 2 (Fayetteville, Round Top). Pct. 2 had just one active case on Monday.

According to the center for Disease Control more than 123,000 Americans have died of coronavirus, including 2,192 Texans.
