St. Michael’s to Hold Annual Children’s Service

St. Michael’s Lutheran Church will be having their annual Christmas Eve service led by the children. Practices start on Dec. 6. Only three practices will be held, so the service leaders will need to know which children will be participating no later than Sunday, Nov. 29. Children will need to be at all three practices so that they are prepared to lead the service on Christmas Eve. Please contact Amanda Hart, Krystel Burton, Jenny Fajkus or Amanda Hankemeier to confirm that your child(ren) will be participating in the program.

Things I Am Thankful For

To the Editor: This Thanksgiving season I am thankful for the electric carts provided by Walmart and HEB that allow me to shop. I am thankful for the employees who keep them charged.

A sigh of relief. That is my physical reaction to the end of a marathon election I’m glad it is over, not that the controversy, the angst, the recounting, the lawsuits have ended, but the actual voting is over.

Kudos to Councilperson Gonzalez

To the Editor: Thank you Councilperson Gonzalez for asking questions related to Schmeckenfest, or anything for that matter. For the past few years, few Councilpersons have asked the City Manager or Mayor any questions related to anything.

Constitution Doesn’t Have Asterisks

To the Editor: Mr. Mikus, I give you FACTS on what our Constitution says, and you come back with what amounts to emotional blackmail with hysteria, shaming, and exaggeration.

Exploring Career Pathways

It was 103 degrees. Until then, I had not given much thought to jobs after high school, but this first job experience jump started my thoughts about careers with cooler working conditions.
